The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the location on First Avenue in lovely Sawtell is handy for getting around on foot. There's a good pool too. The apartment is basic but adequate for a short stay, though it feels old and tired and needs updating. Three lights weren't working, the old plastic towel rail was broken despite the room sleeping 4-5 people, and the crockery was a mismatched collection of cheap pieces. The pillows were hard and lumpy, and the screen door was very dirty. I'd give it a low 3 stars, okay for a short stay.

Richard, the owner, was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble, the service was exceptional, and the price was budget friendly. I'll be back. The room was very clean and practical, with basic kitchen supplies so I didn't have to eat out the whole time. The location was close to everything, and the pool was lovely.

The hosts were great and called me by name, and I liked the clean pool. The room was basic but tidy and pleasant, and I thought it was very good value. The kitchenette is new while the bathroom is old, but everything works as it should. The air conditioning worked and was needed.

It felt just like home, with generously sized beds. At 140 a night, it was good value. The mini mart is only 30 metres away, the pub and club are 50 metres, and the beach is 100 metres. You can head out to a restaurant, club or pub, or cook in the apartment or by tmBBQ by the pool.
