The views of mount warning and the striking chalets were wonderful, and I loved the tea ceremony too. I’m so glad I booked here for a much-needed break and some rest. Thanks, Iya and Sandro, for such a great stay.

The scenery, tea ceremony, and Zen Thai massage were all positives, but after this weekend I’d strongly suggest finding somewhere else to stay in the region. The chalets seem poorly maintained for paying guests, and ours had reportedly sustained water damage. Before moving in, I twice asked management whether it was structurally sound and was told yes both times. About 24 hours into the stay, the bedroom ceiling collapsed, bringing down dust, debris, and a dead rodent. It was hugely distressing, and just one of several problems our group encountered. We emailed management with various concerns, but the response was deeply unsatisfactory. It seemed to blame us unfairly and felt accusatory, instead of addressing what we raised with care or in a constructive way. There also seemed to be a serious lack of honesty and transparency between management staff and the property owner.

The forest is peaceful and serene, a real healing tonic. My chalet had all the luxuries I’d expect from accommodation at this level. I also noticed native plants being regenerated and walking tracks leading into the forest. Arriving at Ecoasis, I was met with an impressive view across the valley to Mt.Wollumbin. The property has a special feel. You can see the effects of the cyclone and floods, with huge gum trees uprooted here and there, but I still highly recommend it 💫

The Zen Thai massage was fantastic, and I’d recommend the tea ceremony too. But the rooms are falling apart. Our group booked two chalets, and both had problems. In Rangeview, a bedroom door was broken and could trap you inside if you shut it. The spa bath didn’t work, and the upstairs blinds fell down. The air con upstairs was out as well. The Forrest cabin had extensive water damage. The ceiling fell beside the bed, and the bathroom ceiling was cracked and sagging. Management’s response blamed our group, saying we had “demanded” to stay there despite the damage, which simply wasn’t true. The tone was accusatory. We’re a laid-back group of women, and it felt really unprofessional for them to turn it back on us.

Iya and Sandro were welcoming and helpful, and the chalet was deluxe. The forest feels like a sanctuary, with magical views of Mt Wollumbin. It’s an amazing place for a peaceful break, with a teahouse and spacious lawns too. Definitely recommend it.
