Annam Serviced Apartments

I’ve stayed here a couple of times and think it’s excellent value, with spacious, clean, well maintained rooms. The location is good too, near transport, cafes, restaurants, and supermarkets. Daily servicing is included, though they don’t wash the dishes. For the price, that’s still better than expected. My only niggle is that some showers overflow onto the bathroom floor. In summer, a north or south facing room may be more comfortable than an east facing one, and a little quieter as well. Recommended.

Reception and cleanliness were very good, the nightly price was excellent for what you get, and the location is great, close to Kings Cross train station. The place badly needs renovation and attention to detail, though. The key cards are unreliable. It was hugely frustrating to call the nice staff after hours to reprogram mine when it stopped working. The air conditioning is filthy and just spreads dust around the room. It needs proper servicing, which isn’t housekeeping’s responsibility. The windows don’t keep out enough road noise, so it’s unacceptably noisy inside. The worst part is that the sheets don’t fit the bed. If they used fitted sheets, this would be a four-star review. I can understand the other issues given the price.

The location made this a great choice, with museums, downtown, bus stops and plenty of good restaurants all within walking distance. The mini apartment had lots of room and a kitchen, and it was cleaned and serviced daily. It isn’t the newest place, but the rates are competitive for the space and the price to quality balance is really good.

The rooms could use better soundproofing. Voices from other rooms and traffic outside were really loud. Still, it’s a good value if you want a roomy apartment, at around 100-130 AUD a night. The room is a little old but perfectly adequate, and they tidy it every day, mostly by making the bed and changing the towels.
