We often book this old-school, budget-friendly place for concerts at Olympic park, and it’s handy for getting into the city or other suburbs too. The rooms open straight outside, which works well for smokers, and the free Wi-Fi has excellent reception. Rooms are tidy, the reverse-cycle air conditioning works well, and the shower’s great. My only real gripes are that the bed feels too hard and hurts my back, though there are enough pillows, clean sheets and blankets, and the TV only has free-to-air channels. Free parking is a bonus when there’s a space. I haven’t had trouble finding one, though the lot can fill up on weekends.

The staff were polite and really friendly, and the big parking area made things easy. It was pretty quiet, so sleeping was no problem. The room was clean and tidy, with comfortable beds. The station is about a 10-minute walk away, and the mall is around 5 minutes on foot. I was glad to find a microwave there, it let us heat up dinner. We’d be happy to come back and hope for an even better stay next time.

Once the room changes and a quick repair were sorted, we had a good stay with no further problems. It took a couple of tries to get there: the first room had a dirty toilet, so the gentleman at the front counter apologized and moved us promptly. But the replacement had a double and a single bed instead of the queen I’d paid for, so we had to move again. Then the toilet seat came completely off. The man came over quickly and fixed it.

There’s plenty you need nearby, and it’s a good spot. My room had what I needed, and I could even sign in to watch Netflix. The staff member at check-in was lovely and helpful.

The room had all the useful bits, a jug, toaster, microwave, iron and ironing board, bar fridge, hangers and a hairdryer. It was very clean, and the bed was really comfortable, which is a rare find. The bathroom felt a bit cramped, but the shower was great. The young man at reception was friendly and helpful when we arrived. We’d stay here again.
