Ballantyne at Mosman Serviced Apartment

Tim was kind enough to arrange a ground floor room for us and explained everything clearly. The email documentation was great, and the room was very clean, with new appliances and a sofa. We liked having storage for our suitcases so they weren’t in the main living area, and appreciated being able to park in the carport. The first-come, first-served arrangement was explained well. The location worked really well, with bus transport and local shops within walking distance. One downside was the stove extractor fan wasn’t strong enough, and I set off the fire alarm making eggs. I also had to clean most of the stains from inside the kettle with vinegar, since hard water minerals had marked it. The Nespresso machine was a nice touch, even though we didn’t use it. We thoroughly enjoyed Sydney, and the apartment made the trip nicer. I’d happily stay here again.

Great location for us, just a short walk to the shops. The place was clean and tidy, and we enjoyed our stay.

It’s on a lovely street close to shops and a playground, with beaches within walking distance. The location is great, but the rooms were below average. We had a double bed rather than a queen, so we didn’t sleep well. It was noisy too, and we could hear a lot from outside. Be aware there are steps up into the apartments, so it isn’t level.

Room 3 was manageable, with a comfortable bed and clean linen. Tim and Ruby were polite when I raised the problems and offered me a free breakfast at the cafe up the road, but I didn’t have time to use it. I was trying to get a bit of sleep after being kept awake by noise the night before. The bathroom ceiling and the back of the door were covered in mould, and the extractor fan didn’t work. There’s no soundproofing or seals around doors and windows, with big gaps, so noisy neighbours come through loud and clear. Every cough, door slam and laugh, at all hours. There are shutters instead of curtains, and one window has neither, so outside light is an issue if you’re a light sleeper. The service was generally polite, but the units feel overpriced for this quality. I don’t recommend it.
