Blue Mountains Heritage Motel

The main downside for us was mould between some bathroom tiles and on the curtains. The room was generally clean, but the windowsills were quite dusty, and one corner showed water marks with what looked like the beginning of more mould. Apart from that, we enjoyed our stay at the Blue Mountains Heritage Motel. Compared with other motels I've stayed at, this was a pleasant one. The room, kitchenette and bathroom were clean, and there was enough space. The kitchenette had a microwave, sink and mini fridge. We also liked the welcome wine, and the wardrobe area between the room and entrance was handy. The spa jet in the bathroom worked well, even though the design was a little older. Despite facing the main road, the room was quiet in the evenings and early mornings, with easy street access. The location on Katoomba St was decent, and walking downhill from Katoomba train station with our luggage wasn't too bad. Staff were friendly in our brief check-in and check-out interactions. Carol kindly tried to get us into a room early when we arrived before check-in, if one was ready, and both arrival and departure were easy. We could leave luggage at reception before check-in and after checkout, which helped us explore without carrying it around. It wasn't in a locked secure area, though, just beneath the stairs by reception. Breakfast was included, served at the Metropole hotel. It's a beautiful place to eat, but getting there meant hiking back uphill towards the train station.

The staff made our stay unforgettable, and the hotel itself is beautiful. It sits in a prime location too. My partner and I are grateful for the experience and will definitely book here again on our next Blue Mountains visit. :)

The rooms are simple and average, and the customer service was very poor. Being close to shops and cafes is a real plus. Adding breakfast at the Metropole was inconvenient without a car.

We got what we expected, a clean and cosy room in a great location. The only negative was other guests running and jumping around their rooms late at night and early in the morning. People staying in this kind of motel need to behave and respect others.
