Cambridge Lodge - Hostel

The rooms were clean, the amenities were great, and the receptionist was wonderful. My partner had a job interview that evening, so they upgraded us. We were in a rush the next day, and they even took care of our laundry. Shops and the bus stop are just a short walk away. Thanks again, we had the best time at Cambridge Lodge and would definitely return.☺️

There was a strange smell everywhere, a bit like baby powder. I noticed some cockroaches, and the doors slammed so loudly that you could hear them in the rooms. The bed bounced a lot and wasn't comfortable. There are fans in the rooms but no air conditioning. On the plus side, the private rooms are spacious and have their own fridge, the station is nearby, and the shared kitchen has the essentials.

Kathy at the front desk really looked after us, made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived and shared great tips about food and local places. She suggested Manly, which ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. The staff made our stay even better. Cambridge Lodge was clean and comfortable, and we loved it. The location worked perfectly for getting around Sydney and to the airport, with Stanmore Station only a short walk away. The area felt quiet, convenient and safe. ♥️ Garrett & Jenny

I booked through Booking.com but couldn't make the trip because the airline cancelled my flight and there was no other flight available at the time. I cancelled the room as soon as I heard and contacted the hotel to ask for a partial refund. They kept sending automated check-in instructions and never replied about the refund. When I called, they said I had to deal with Booking because the hotel is charged a commission whether I show up or not. Booking's customer service told me they'd already escalated it to the hotel, but the hotel hadn't responded. I'm disappointed with how they handled this.
