Chatswood walk to Train Station/Shopping center

There’s no breakfast at Silkari, but they do have free morning coffee, and a few cafes nearby open early for coffee or breakfast. I enjoyed the nice morning walks around the nearby residential area. The place is clean and well maintained, a short walk from Chatswood station, with plenty of food and drink choices close by. A pleasant stay, and I’d come back.

The rooms are generously sized and well equipped, and the accommodation felt modern, clean and comfortable. Mornings were a nice touch, with complimentary coffee from the cart and, on my most recent stay, freshly baked banana bread. If breakfast is included, vouchers can be used at Café Markus or, as of March 2026, Black & White Espresso across the road. The friendly reception team made us feel welcome, and the location is handy, right by the library and opposite Chatswood Chase in the centre of Chatswood.

We arrived late and had no way to see the problems beforehand, so we couldn’t find another place at the last minute. The bedroom facing wall had its lower section stripped from water damage, and the shower head was rusty and poorly maintained. The rest of the apartment was fine. When we raised the wall condition and said we expected better for over $200, staff acknowledged the issue but said it wasn’t really one. They had a spare room, but it was a different type, and they said the system wouldn’t let them move us. Management wasn’t available. Since it was late and we valued our time more than the hassle of trying to solve it, we stayed. Staff apologised but said there was nothing they could do, and guests aren’t told about the problem when they pay for a room. You might want to avoid this place until repairs are done, unless you’re okay paying $200+ a night for somewhere that looks damaged and under repair. There are better nearby options, so check them out if you can. We felt trapped, and staff again blamed the system for not being able to switch us for the night, even with another room available. This was our first and last Silkari stay. Things may improve over time, but it’s useful to know what you’re paying for.

I really liked the spacious room, including its small kitchen and washer/dryer combo, and the morning coffee was absolutely beautiful. Silkari’s customer service was outstanding when I left an important item behind: they found it and shipped it back to me. I paid for the shipping and was very happy to do so. There are lots of food choices around Chatswood and the train is super close. I’d recommend Silkari suites for a Sydney stay of more than three nights.
