The front desk staff member I tried to be friendly with was ignorant, and the place is a health hazard. On checkout day I asked to leave our bags there and was told it would cost $170. We left in tears. Don’t bring your children here. There’s a single men’s hostel next door that houses men fresh out of prison.

The room we were given was on the kingsway, with single pain glass, and was very dirty. The place was shocking and nothing like the photos online. Chris was so unhelpful and rude. He said we could cancel and get a refund through Booking.com, but that appears to have been a blatant lie. He told me I needed to ring Amsterdam to speak with them. This is a clear example of breaches of Australian Trade practices Act Section 52 false misleading deceptive conduct.

I accidentally booked accommodation for December, then made another booking for November, which was when I meant to come. Cronulla motor inn has refused to refund me, citing its “policy.” Their policy means keeping my money instead of returning it. That’s their prerogative.

The location is amazing, but I wouldn’t recommend this place. The rooms, and even the fridge, smell like spew. The showers are mouldy and there’s dog hair all over the carpets. The door between two family rooms, which isn’t the main room door, can’t be opened when it’s locked because the owner doesn’t carry keys for it. Instead, he can get into your room through the windows, and you aren’t told that at check-in. Parking is horrendous: the spaces are far too small for big cars, and although they’re marked for each room, apparently anyone can park anywhere. If your spot is taken when you return, you’re told to find street parking despite having “allocated” parking. The owner/receptionist is extremely rude and just grunts at you. It needs upgrading, and the pricing should be reconsidered given its current state. I’m unsure how it’s still being run.
