Devere Hotel

For the price, this is a good location choice and the rooms are clean. There's no restaurant and no onsite parking, but they have an arrangement with an offsite lot about a five minute walk away. Good places to eat are right outside. It's an old building, so some features are unusual.

I've been coming back to The Devere hotel for years, and want to thank the staff, especially Joseph, who's always been accommodating. It's in an excellent spot and has what you need there or nearby. Froth cafe up the road does a great cooked breakfast for $7. Handy for seniors going to shows and live performances.

I don't usually complain, but this stay left me with a bad feeling. The room itself was a decent size, and the last straw was how dirty the bathroom was, as shown in the attached photo. The Asian gentleman who met us seemed annoyed just to have to talk to us. The walls are so thin we could hear the people next door easily.

I booked this basic, very average hotel at short notice for an overnight work trip during a busy period. Its location is the best thing about it. What really upset me was leaving a dress hanging in the wardrobe by mistake. I called the front desk, but the staff member said housekeeping hadn't found anything in the room. I'm completely sure I left it there, and now I have no way to get it back. I've never had this happen at any hotel I've stayed in. It feels extremely unprofessional, essentially like taking property from guests who trusted the hotel with their things. I should have read the reviews before booking, and maybe I'd still have my dress. Don't bother staying here.
