The location is amazing, and the rooms are liveable, though not great. The room was serviced every day, which I appreciated, but I never saw a single staff member. I was fine with the stay and liked the location, but I never really relaxed. As a solo female traveller, I didn’t feel safe. The building key was left in an unlocked box outside, and my room key was in a lockbox in the hallway. The ground floor room door didn’t lock from inside, so knowing anyone could get the building key made me nervous. I worried each day that the cleaner might walk in while I was showering.

For a reasonable-priced stay with easy access to Coogee Beach, the location is ideal. The rooms are fairly old but clean. There’s no reception or other service, and nobody ever answers the phone number listed on the website or Booking.com.

The view from the beach-facing rooms is magical, so I’d book one of those. You may hear some outside noise, though. It’s a lovely place to stay, with a shared kitchen and private pantry.

The location was great, but the room was extremely basic and smelled awful. Maybe it used to be a bordello in another life.

Our room is spacious, comfortable and clean, with a large bathroom and an amazing view. We booked a balcony room and were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a beach view. The staff have been helpful whenever we needed anything, and the location is hard to beat. Looking forward to the rest of our stay.
