The regulars kept coming in while I was there, and the food looked tempting. I only meant to pop in for the WC during a walk, but the place felt so comfortable I stayed for a few pints. Built in 1856 as the Shamrock Hotel, it seems to have plenty of stories. There’s seating inside and out. UPDATE: I came back the next day for the lunch special, green Curry Chicken. Really good, with just the right amount of heat.

The city location was great, and the stay felt like good value. Everything was clean and tidy, and the atmosphere was lovely. We really enjoyed it and would definitely come back.

Really good food and pints, and the staff were super friendly. Great pub, and dogs are welcome too. Highly recommend.

We had a great lunch and a couple of pints here. The parmy and beer were excellent, and the service was just as good. There’s old world charm, a fireplace going, and no poker machines in sight. Definitely worth a stop if you’re wandering around.

The salad was actually tasty, and the Guinness was poured well. That’s about all I can praise. I stopped at this cute little pub for food and thought Fish & Chips would be a safe choice, but they were horrible. The batter was twice as thick as the fish and rubbery, like the worst cheap takeaway left in a bain-marie all day. Not what I expected from a $26 pub meal. I certainly won’t eat here again.
