Ollie’s a top bloke. He looks after the regulars and knows how to pour a beer. The vibe is relaxed, without the usual Sydney nonsense. This is a real old school corner pub in Redfern, no frills, just good beer and a top feed. Don’t come expecting a castle, lol. The schnitzel is massive and actually good, not frozen rubbish, and the schooners of New didn’t cost an arm and a leg for once. Great place to watch the footy and chill out. A proper pub for proper people. I’ll be back for sure, brutha.

I asked for the house wine, and confirmed it was dry. At payment they charged me $3 extra. When I questioned it, he said I should have asked. We had asked. Dry wine apparently isn’t happy hour. I found the service aggressive and happy hour a con. I don’t recommend this place at all.

The location is good, but we were disappointed by the stay. The room was dusty, and we saw a cockroach in the corridor. Wi-Fi didn’t work, and reporting it got us no solution. We also found the property manager’s replies to simple questions unfriendly and unprofessional. It made the stay uncomfortable. I hope they improve the cleanliness and communication for future guests.

The manager was rude, condescending and unnecessarily aggressive when answering simple, reasonable questions. This wasn’t a misunderstanding, it was a lack of basic courtesy and professionalism.
