This was easily the worst and most expensive place I've stayed. It smells bad, there is a cockroach infestation, and the kitchen and bathrooms are disgusting and neglected. It looked like nothing had been cleaned in months. The beds are old, the mattresses terrible, and nobody seemed to clean anything. I don't usually leave reviews, but this was such a bad experience I wouldn't wish a stay in that cockroach cave on anyone. The listing photos don't represent reality at all, and there's no air conditioning. Five stars to the worst hostel.

The staff were kind, but that's the only positive I can think of. The hostel was in terrible shape, extremely dirty, and seemed to lack proper cleaning. There was an unsettling atmosphere, with many long-term residents smoking and drinking in the common areas all day, which made it uncomfortable for short-term guests. The kitchen was filthy and smelled bad. Old refrigerators were packed full and unhygienic, and the beds and pillows were in awful condition. I could feel the springs through the mattress and barely slept. It was a very unpleasant stay, and I wouldn't recommend it. There are much better nearby hostels for a similar price.

Such a good-value hostel in Sydney, 5/5. I'm glad I can save money here for my next trip. It's super close to trains, buses, supermarkets, and Hyde Park, so the location is great. The owner and staff are really nice, and I felt at home away from home. I enjoyed the TV room with Netflix and meeting friendly guests from different countries. I'll definitely stay again. FILTHY, absolutely filthy. The place reeked of weed. We saw cockroaches, toenails, mould, cobwebs, loads of dust, and even a dead rat skeleton. We booked a week but made it through just two nights before fleeing to the safety of another hostel. Avoid it at all costs. It felt like a threat to our health and safety.
