Hotel Bondi

The location is great, and our first night at Hotel Bondi, a Thursday, was fine. The room was old but okay. Friday was a different story: the DJ kept us awake until 2am. I raised it with reception Saturday morning. He offered us another room but said the noise would probably be about the same, so we decided to cancel Saturday night rather than risk another night awake until 2am. He said a refund was unlikely and that we’d need to email during business hours. I emailed the next day and was told there’d be no refund because the websites all say it’s a late-night venue. I replied that Wotif doesn’t say that anywhere, then followed up a week later. It’s been over a month with no response, so I suppose our money is gone. I don’t recommend Hotel Bondi, especially on a Friday or Saturday. Management ignoring us after I politely explained why their argument was incorrect has left me really unhappy. This was handled very poorly.

It was quiet despite being right on the main road opposite the beach. We had a lovely, well-priced lunch in the courtyard on a weekday, with good service and a partial view.

Yoyo team, quick word from Saturday arvo. The NRL preseason challenge was on, four games, and around 1-50pm I asked to have it on the big screen in the Curlewis room. Nobody was in there and the TV had nothing on. A lady came in with a dude and they got it sorted, sweet. I asked for the volume. She said “nah.” I laughed and said of course you can, it’s on all the time, but she said “nah” again. The dude beside her turned it up, so that was that! 😎 I know it’s a small thing, but why say “nah” to a reasonable request? It made me feel like I’d asked for the world, and going back to the bar for a beer felt a bit uncomfortable. Cheers all 😎💪💪

The staff were lovely, and a security guard even helped us take a family photo. We dropped in for dinner with family and friends and had a great time. The food and drinks were great, too. The pokie room has a separate indoor area for smokers. Cheers.
