The room decor is done really well, and the staff were exceptional, warm, and always willing to help. They gave Hotel Morris a personal, boutique feel throughout my stay. As the website clearly says, the rooms are quite small and there's no proper closet or dresser. Traveling solo, I could make it work, but it was tight with my two suitcases. Worth considering what you need. The location is great for catching a bus or train around the city. This was my first time in Sydney, and I enjoyed my stay and would recommend the hotel.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and even had a hair straightener as well as a dryer. I loved the automatic floor lights in the bathroom too. Hotel Morris gets the small touches right, with friendly, welcoming, generous staff. It's perfectly placed for transport and Chinatown. Couldn't find fault and will definitely return.

We paid for breakfast but only ate it on one of our three mornings. It was disappointing and didn't seem fresh. The hotel is also very poorly soundproofed. My friend and I were in neighboring rooms and could talk easily while standing in our bathrooms. In my room the air conditioning wouldn't cool below 25°C overnight, and when I reported it, they offered a fan. A lot of the TV channels didn't work either. The room was dirty, with dusty surfaces and an uncleaned toilet, and my friend's bathroom ceiling was covered in mould. There was construction noise on one morning from the skyscraper being built right beside the hotel, and I expect it may get much more frequent as the project progresses. Service varied between guests. I had a couple of nice interactions, but overall staff seemed poorly trained and indifferent. I expected more and will avoid Accor Group hotels after this.

The location was good, and everyone on staff I met was pleasant, but I wouldn't choose to stay again. My Morris King room was fairly small, so I'd say the hotel suits a shorter trip or business travel better than a leisure visit. Room service let me down: after a late night out, I ordered a chicken panini and left half of it. The chicken was rubbery, the lettuce wilted, and the bread stale. Breakfast was limited, and the waitress didn't explain what came with the add-on, so I didn't get what I paid for while other tables seemed to receive the proper breakfast. The bathroom lighting was too poor for makeup, so I used the bedroom mirror, and the basin was so tiny that washing my face was awkward. On my first night the toilet ran loudly and constantly, keeping me barely asleep. I called the concierge and maintenance fixed it the next day, but it was frustrating since I'd checked in late and had an early start.

I paid $760 for two nights last week. It was extremely expensive for what I got, but I could accept the price since Sydney hotels all seemed costly, presumably because there was a lot going on. The staff were very helpful, and the food and drinks were fine. But the air conditioning failed and I couldn't sleep. My room was incredibly hot, and when I tried to shower, there was no water. I tried calling and using the 'chat' in the ACCOR app, but nobody was working. I was awake for three hours during the night and had to cancel my first meeting Friday. I asked for a full refund, which I felt was reasonable, especially after losing sleep and missing that meeting. I emailed Luke Gibbs, their 'manager', and he replied with '2000 ALL points' while ignoring my refund request. I called and emailed again but couldn't get through. This is disgusting and abhorrent conduct. ACCOR shouldn't distribute bookings through its app to this hotel. I'm a gold member. If anyone at ACCOR is reading this, please call me.
