Hoteloco

Hoteloco is an interesting spot by the old locomotive area, without the crowds of central Sydney, and the train station is about four minutes away. It’s downhill with luggage. The name made me think of the Spanish word loco before I reached Redfern, and there’s interesting artwork around the hotel. They’ve planned the rooms well. Mine was spotless and felt fresh, with a comfortable bed and a new-looking room. It had a microwave, fridge, sink with dish soap and towels, dishes, silverware, filtered water, Nespresso, kettle, safe, and extra linens. Staff were friendly and helpful. There are restaurants and interesting buildings close by, plus a grocery store for fruit and light breakfast supplies. It’s easy to reach major attractions from here, and I’d stay again.

The rooms are okay and feel new, and the hotel is handy if you’re working at the nearby office complex. But I’ve repeatedly had a poor experience checking in because everything is keyless: a text for sign-in, then another with the codes for the entrance and room doors. There also isn’t much around the hotel at night.

Such a cool vibe and a great location. My room was beautiful and clean, the service was top-notch, and I had no problems during my stay. One of the best places I’ve stayed, and I’d always come back.

It’s midnight and I still haven’t been able to sleep because of the noise. Our flight was cancelled, so after a stressful day we chose this five-star hotel because it was closest to the airport and had good reviews. All we wanted was a proper rest. The hotel looks beautiful and welcoming, but we were given Room 1 beside reception. There are constant door slams, loud conversations, and noise from the lift area. The soundproofing in this room is very poor, and the nighttime noise is unbearable. I don’t know whether other rooms are any better, but I wouldn’t recommend Room 1 to anyone expecting a quiet night.
