ibis budget Wentworthville

I've stayed at the Ibis twice, and the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating both times. I'll come back, though I'd ask for a higher floor, away from reception, if I need a better shot at some quiet. On my first visit I needed to check in at 10am and leave around 5pm the same day. I was only there to sleep, and the top-floor room, well away from reception, was peaceful. The more recent room was on the ground floor just metres from the front desk, vending machines and laundry. About half an hour into my sleep, someone servicing a machine made so much noise it sounded like huge rats digging in the wall by my head. I poked my head out to say people were trying to sleep, but he wasn't accommodating. Then there was what sounded like a chair being dragged around constantly in the room above, followed by loud music from next door. I was there about seven hours and slept for roughly one. Then I had to drive back to Brisbane. That noise wasn't a reflection on the staff overall, who were great on both stays.

The beds are wonderfully comfortable, and the room felt hygienic and wasn't too crowded despite being small and open. Service was good, and the price is affordable. But the bathroom is so tiny, almost like a porta-potty, with a cramped shower. It doesn't feel curvy friendly, and I love a good shower, so using the toilet and shower was something I dreaded. There was also a lingering toilet smell even with the fan on, which made sharing the space with friends uncomfortable. Most of the room is taken up by the beds, leaving barely any kitchenette. There's a kettle and mini fridge but no microwave in the room. The fridge seems to partly freeze everything, and the only microwave is in a shared area downstairs. Cheap and decent service, but the kitchenette and bathroom basics need work.

The breakfast buffet had plenty for a decent start to the day: cereal, yoghurt, toast, pancakes, juice, tea and coffee. Staff on duty were friendly and helpful too. We switched from a king to a triple room. It was small but clean and comfortable, and the hotel suited a quick, affordable overnight stay near Eastern Creek Motorsport Park.

Convenient location, clean rooms and friendly staff made for a smooth recent stay at ibis Budget. It was comfortable enough while still affordable, good value for money, and I'd happily stay again. 😊
