I slept well each night thanks to the comfortable bed and pillows, and the restaurant had some good choices on its menu. The location was very handy, within walking distance of the city centre and several other sites. Housekeeping came late in the afternoon. Usually that wouldn't bother me, but I was working in the room after meetings and it got in the way a bit. Still, the stay was comfortable and convenient.

The room was clean and tidy, and the bed was comfortable. I could have used a bigger table to work at, though, and the air conditioning fan was quite loud even on its lowest setting. Accommodation in Sydney seemed unusually expensive that week. I've stayed in better places for a lot less before. There wasn't anything fundamentally wrong with this one.

We had a quiet, spotlessly clean room on the 14th floor with good air conditioning. Breakfast offered a decent range, including a tea selection on the buffet that we especially appreciated. Staff were welcoming and helpful. The CBD location was handy for the main attractions and museums, and the Museum stop on the T8 airport train line was nearby. Self check-in and check-out were quick and easy if you wanted to avoid adding work for the Front Desk. A good stay in a convenient spot.

I used to work for Accor hotels, so I stayed at Ibis Styles to see what the guest experience was like. I came away really disappointed. The reception staff on the morning shift seemed too busy helping a particular ethnicity. I won't go into that experience further. I had no dealings with afternoon or evening staff, as I was out most of the day and night. I won't name the staff here, but I do have their names. The main issue was my medicine. Before leaving on an 11-day overseas holiday, I emailed asking if it could be kept aside. One staff member confirmed it had been located. I got no reply to my next email, so when I returned to Sydney I called to arrange collection and was told I could come by anytime. At the hotel, I waited an hour while they said housekeeping would bring it down. Then the person I'd spoken with on the phone arrived and said what they'd found was something else, and she'd call once they located mine. Three hours later, she called to say the medicine had been thrown away under the policy of keeping items for only 24 hours. They could have told me that when I first emailed, or at least when I called, instead of leaving me around the city most of the day expecting to collect it. The service wasn't up to Accor standard.
