The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was a decent buffet. There were pastries, cereal, toast and a pancake machine, plus hot food such as boiled eggs, bacon, sausage, beans and potatoes, with the potato options changing day to day. The chef also offered scrambled eggs made to order. I booked a room with breakfast, though you can buy it for A$20 in advance or A$30 on the day. Getting around is easy. The hotel is reachable from the airport by public transport and is in the 'Koreatown' area, with plenty of places for food, coffee and drinks and good transport links for seeing Sydney. It's opposite Sydney World Square, which has lots of places to eat, especially Asian food, as well as a supermarket for essentials. The neighbourhood looked a little run down, with empty shops, rubbish and graffiti, but it didn't feel unsafe and there were always people about. The bed was comfortable and the bedding clean. There was a fridge and tea and coffee setup. The room and bathroom both need some attention: the room felt tired and could use a deep clean, especially the filthy A/C unit. The bathroom was much cleaner, compact but adequate, with plenty of hot water and good pressure. I dislike rainfall shower heads because they're impractical when you don't want your hair wet. The hotel overall is run down and due for an update, and the rooms weren't the cleanest. I'd maybe stay again if it were considerably cheaper than the other Ibis at Darling Harbour or the Ibis Styles.

If a good night's sleep matters, stay somewhere else. I was there for one night before a work meeting the following week, and the nightclub next door kept me hearing every song. The air conditioning was okay, but the room still felt warm. At check-in, the woman was polite, but didn't acknowledge my silver status until I asked about a late checkout, which she did grant. I knew Ibis wasn't fancy, having stayed in their hotels before, but I wouldn't recommend this one.

The room was good, and the bathroom was adequate. It's close to the city, easy to get around from, and there are plenty of food options nearby. All the staff were very friendly and kind. I booked about four months ahead for New Year's and got a good price. If you're planning to go for New Year's, I'd recommend booking about six months in advance.

The events I go to are literally around the corner, just a three-minute walk away, so the location is the best part. The room was simple and not soundproof at all. I could hear a couple arguing into the early morning. Breakfast was good, and the staff there were very attentive despite the crowd. I had some work to do, and the woman let me take food back with me. Check-in and check-out were simple. The Asian cook plated fresh mushrooms for me, which reminded me of my grandfather doing the same with milo when I was a child in Malaysia. Bless 🤍🧸

The room and beds felt too small, and the ventilation was poor enough that I felt short of oxygen while staying there. The staff were good and the service was not bad. The location is excellent, close to the shopping mall, museum station, World Square and lots of restaurants. They could improve things to make it feel worth the money.
