The air conditioning was fine in the bedroom, but there was none at the front bunk bed where my 5 year old son was supposed to sleep. It was 40 degrees, so I gave up my bed in the bedroom to let him sleep there. If I’d known, I wouldn’t have booked. My wife booked the vacation through wot if, and the place she chose by accident was miles from anything. I paid $1500 for a terrible trip. There were no amenities or room service, and I had to wash our dishes or be charged for it. They were dirty when we arrived, and we had to clean them before using them. The floor was sticky and grimy enough that I didn’t want to walk around barefoot. The cabins were noisy, with everything from next door carrying through, even though we were expected to keep quiet after a certain hour. The roads were broken and felt dangerous. There was a notice saying we had internet, but we had no access at all. The website photos mixed in places that weren’t this one and gave a misleading impression. The pool was filthy and the sauna was broken. I’m leaving early. I regret booking this place, and I won’t be back. I could have spent the same amount at Novotel and had a better Christmas.

We’ve stayed here twice now with our children and grandchildren, and it feels like a home away from home. The Pool Villa's are spacious, the beds are comfortable, and everything’s clean, though it’s not five star accommodation. We’ve never had any issues, and the service has been excellent. The manager is the bomb! John the Handyman is the BEST, always doing his best when something needs doing. He’s also polite, considerate and really helpful. The receptionist was so welcoming and helpful too. Service like that makes you want to return, and we’ll definitely come back, hopefully soon. Thankyou Avina staff for making our stay so enjoyable. We gave it 10/10. Hopefully Avina adds more activities beyond the games room and swimming pool.

The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful, and the cabins turned out to be clean and comfortable. The bed was a pleasant surprise, as were the quality toiletries. Our studio cabin had a small but adequate fridge, a microwave and even an airfryer, with enough cutlery and crockery for four, although there were only two of us. For us, the location worked well because work was 10 minutes from the park. Two shopping centres with Coles/Woolies/Aldi, takeaways and chemists are within a five minute drive. Holidaymakers wanting quick access to the Hawkesbury river should know it’s a 15 to 20 minute drive to the closest jetty. Given the price and access to amenities, I couldn’t ask for more. The pool was clean and nice, and the staff were friendly. That was about all I liked. There wasn’t much for kids besides the pool, where some children were unsupervised and a few older guests were very rude. The amenities block was extremely dirty, with old soap left behind, mud everywhere, filthy floors that looked long overdue for a mop, and spiders all over. Our campsite had cigarette butts scattered about and a horrible sewage smell that came and went all night. The kitchen was disgusting, and dust and cobwebs covered the ensuite area too. The road in was rough and poorly maintained. Laundry was $6 per wash and $6 per dryer, but the dryer didn’t properly dry the clothes. I wish we’d read the reviews first. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
