Between the four-hour slow-roasted duck that fell right off the bone and my partner's perfectly cooked, incredibly tender steak, the main courses were fantastic. We also shared chocolate mousse and crepe suzette for dessert, and both were outstanding. The food was spectacular, probably the best meal we've had. There was a roaming violinist and a pianist with an accordion, and most of the wait staff are French. I'd highly recommend this place.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary with a night at the guest house and dinner at the Rooster. The view from our comfortable, tasteful room was amazing. Dinner was delicious, with fine service, a visit from the passionate French chef, and a fiddle player. An amazing experience.

We had a lovely meal, and the staff looking after our table were really nice. We especially came for the escargot, which didn't disappoint, and there's a terrific range of Scotch Whisky. We'd suggest adding cheese and crackers as an after-dinner option, perhaps with more variety such as roquefort, triple brie, and aged cheddar. The current cheeses all tasted the same to us. The old ambience and French atmosphere have gone, though we've been coming here for many years.

The food was delightful, but be careful with specials. The staff didn't clearly explain what was included, and instead offered us the full menu of French cuisine. Don't be misled by signs or vouchers, or you'll end up with a nice lunch at a rip-off price. Very poor form. No B&B customers will be referred here!
