The rooms are functional and adequately furnished, but unremarkable. There’s no pool, the gym is limited, and the service felt slow. Staff were seldom at the desk and seemed to be in the office, while rooms were made up late in the day. A 10 a.m. checkout and a poor client ethos didn’t help. The location is convenient for the beach and transport, but it isn’t cheap. I found much better value elsewhere for both service and facilities, so I wouldn’t return. Give it a miss; there are better options.
The apartment was clean and comfortable, and the washer and dryer were a great bonus. We could walk everywhere from this perfect location. Would definitely stay again.
I spent a year at Quest Manly on a long work assignment, and when I’m in town I won’t stay anywhere else. The rooms are spacious, the location is perfect, and getting into the city is easy. Restaurants of every sort, including late-night places, are within walking distance, and there are plenty of convenient transport options. Sydney locals seem jealous when they hear you’re staying in Manly. The internet is slow and the nearby bustle can be noisy, but the staff more than make up for it. They looked after my family personally for the whole year, and even my toddler kids know them by name. From reception and management to maintenance and housekeeping, they regularly go out of their way to make things comfortable and convenient.
They told us we weren’t welcome back as we were leaving. A woman from the back, possibly a manager, was at the desk by then, and she and the man there both seemed to have woken up on the wrong side of the bed. At checkout I had a stouch with him, and he blamed everything on us or Covid. Even my usually docile partner got a bit ragey. We were woken early by work in the neighboring room, though apparently we were imagining it. That’s rich coming from someone half deaf. The room was sweaty hot because the air con was broken. Somehow that was our fault for not telling them it was broken before going to bed and turning it on. They also phoned before our agreed late checkout and said we’d be charged for another night if we didn’t leave within ten minutes. Pathetic hotel and service. I did 15 years in the army and could sleep anywhere, except here.
The ceilings are a little low because it’s an old building. That’s the worst I can say about this place. The staff are friendly, the service is amazing, and the attention to detail is great. There’s free WiFi, strong water pressure, and fully equipped apartment-style rooms. It’s also in a very handy spot. One of the best hotels I’ve had the pleasure of staying at, and the only place I’ll choose when I’m back in Sydney.
