The location made it easy to walk to the aquarium, Darling Harbour, and restaurants, and the CBD was just a short stroll away. My executive room was clean, modern, and had everything I needed. I nearly spoiled the trip by booking a standard room to save money, but the view on arrival wasn’t great. A super friendly guy at reception mentioned an executive room was available, so I decided to treat myself. It was the best decision of the trip. The next morning I opened the curtains and just stood there for a good five minutes. The harbour, boats on the water, and the whole city lit up at night looked like a travel magazine picture you’d assume was photoshopped. It wasn’t. My advice is to skip the standard room and pay for the executive. The price difference honestly feels like nothing compared with what you get. Learn from my near-mistake.

I’m back for a work trip, just a month after my previous stay, and the receptionist who checked me in remembered me. He even recalled helping mind our bags last time. That personal touch and great communication are exactly why I booked here again without hesitation. The service has been wonderful from start to finish, and I’m looking forward to coming back this Friday.

The loft layout was comfortable and spacious, and gave the place more of a small apartment feel than a hotel room. Having a kitchen and laundry was a big help. It’s in a great spot right by King Street Wharf, with an easy walk into the CBD. The place is a bit quaint. I stayed a few nights and would love to come back.

For convenience and a home-away-from-home feel, Metro Apartments on Darling Harbour is a great base. It’s steps from Darling Harbour, the Sea Life Aquarium, and King Street Wharf, and an easy walk to Wynyard Station and the CBD. Our loft-style apartment had a stunning harbour view, especially at night. The separate living area and small kitchenette made a multi-day stay much more comfortable than a cramped hotel room, and the price is very competitive for this part of Sydney. Zach was really nice and helpful too. The building is a bit older and feels more like a residential apartment than a luxury hotel. If you want a 24/7 concierge and fancy lobby, it may feel basic. There’s city noise because it’s so central, which is to be expected. There are also stairs into the building and inside the apartment. It’s a reliable, well-located place to explore the city, and I’d definitely stay again for the convenience.

The key card stopped working, and staff refused to help me get back into the building. I asked them to contact a manager, but they said he had gone home for the day. Was I meant to sleep outside? They seemed not to care at all, and several staff members I dealt with were rude, inattentive, and disrespectful. I’d strongly advise against staying here. It’s also on the corner of a very noisy block, with bars, people walking around, and cars passing at all hours. Not a good fit if you’re a light sleeper.
