Muse Private Hotel

Muse Living in Bondi Junction is in an unbeatable spot, right across from the mall and very close to transport. My room and the shared spaces were impressively clean, and the modern facilities were well maintained. The management team was friendly and professional. They clearly care about the property and keep things running smoothly. I’d highly recommend it if you want a convenient, premium place to stay.

The owners were so lovely and really made an effort to help me feel welcome. It’s a stylish, clean, super comfortable place, with a great vibe that felt more like living in Bondi than just staying somewhere short-term. The location was perfect, close to the beach and cafés but still calm and quiet. I’d happily stay again and highly recommend it.

Sharing a kitchen with around 15 other people, with no alcohol allowed in the common areas, added to an uncomfortable stay. We paid a high weekly rate for a room with a balcony, yet were encouraged to spend time in the shared spaces. That felt unnecessary. The owners may respond passive-aggressively, but this is my honest experience for anyone deciding where to stay. There are two buildings: an older one closer to Bondi Beach and a newer, more modern one near Bondi Junction, right across from the mall. Both are conveniently located, but the service at the newer building disappointed us. It’s family-run, and the owners are often on-site, using an office in the hallway. The walls are thin, so conversations carry both ways. We could clearly hear phone calls taken loudly just outside our room. There are strict rules, including no guests after 8pm, no kitchen use after 10pm, and no overnight visitors without permission beforehand. Rules are understandable, but the enforcement and constant presence made the stay feel restrictive and short on privacy. There are also lots of security cameras throughout the property. I understand the safety reason, but alongside being encouraged to use the common areas instead of our room, they made us feel closely watched. Our room wasn’t very clean when we arrived. Someone had left personal belongings behind, including a hairbrush and a used Q-tip in a drawer. We felt the landlords showed little respect and gave us little privacy or freedom. We’d stayed at the first location for several months and had a positive experience, so expected the newer building to be even better. It wasn’t. Save your time and money, and consider staying elsewhere.

I spent three months at Muse and absolutely loved it. The location was very central, close to beaches, transport, and shops. The rooms were nice and clean, and it was a lovely way to meet people. Management were lovely, responsive, and helpful. I’d definitely stay again!
