Nightcap at Blue Cattle Dog Hotel

The food is good, and my partner likes the hotel facilities. The rooms look a little dated, but they’re clean and the staff keep them in good shape. You do hear some road noise from the busy street, and KFC is next door, but that’s the location, not the hotel’s fault. For somewhere close to major roads, it’s a small trade-off. We’ve always had a pleasant stay. The staff are really friendly and helpful, and because they work across the accommodation and hotel areas, they know the whole place well.

The air freshener in the foyer, stairwell and hall is overpowering. It gives the impression they might be trying to cover cigarette smoke. I mentioned it to management and hope they deal with it before your stay. At least the smell doesn’t reach the rooms, so you only have to put up with it briefly. There’s also an issue with the ibises. Someone needs to move them on, if you know what I mean. We were there for almost a week, so got a decent feel for the place. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the rooms were clean. Overall, it’s good value. The bar downstairs is pretty ordinary and a bit rough around the edges.

We’re interstate truck drivers, so it’s nice to get a proper bed and unwind. The dining room feels open and welcoming, and its prices are about what you’d expect at a hotel. It’s been a while since my last visit, and both the venue and motel have had makeovers. Service was excellent, and the staff were friendly.

A good local hotel, with roomy bedrooms and bathrooms. The staff are friendly, and the cleaning crew works hard to keep everything spotless and well maintained.
