Parkroyal Parramatta

The breakfast buffet was frustrating: no one offered us coffee or tea when we were shown to our table, while the manager asked other, non-Asian guests if they wanted a cup. Our group’s requests weren’t followed, and though it may have been miscommunication, nobody took responsibility. The service overall left me very dissatisfied. The rooms had been recently renovated and were big enough for two, but housekeeping left hair and dust on the floor every day. I also wasn’t sure the towels were clean, and the complimentary snacks and coffee weren’t replenished daily. I didn’t use the pool or gym, though the pool looked very small. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for tour groups; I felt poorly treated. At night, the location felt far from Sydney downtown, with little to do beyond Woolworths or Coles, or maybe exploring for a beer.

The club lounge service stood out, with Noah being welcoming, polite, and great at suggesting places to visit around parramatta. We also had a good time at the bar, where Lukas made us a delicious margarita. I’ve just finished my stay at park royal, and the service was outstanding. I’ll definitely be back. The worst part was the parking: an old-style basement with very low overhead clearance, so we couldn’t open the boot, and spaces too narrow for SUVs. We had to pull the car out to load and unload bags, and saw several other vehicles dealing with the same thing. It was absolutely not worth $40 a day. I paid the full amount through Booking.com with Afterpay a few days earlier, but reception couldn’t see it and asked me to pay again before finally admitting their mistake. None of the receptionists smiled. The rooms were very clean, thanks to housekeeping, but neither they nor the lobby looked royal, and the quality should be higher for the price. The bathroom was so small one person could barely move, and all bathroom amenities were available only on request.

Transport was convenient, with easy access to the train station and bus stops, and plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. PARKROYAL Darling Harbour Sydney is beautifully kept and modern, with everything feeling updated and comfortable. The breakfast had a great range and was excellent. All the staff were welcoming and incredibly friendly, which made the stay even nicer. Everything was perfect for me, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sydney.
