Silkari Urban CKS Sydney Airport Hotel

After a 24-hour flight, I needed somewhere to stay overnight and picked Silkari Urban Hotel because it was fairly close to the international airport. I especially appreciated being allowed to check in early. My room had an extra-large bed and was perfectly comfortable, with a good shower and hot water. The front desk staff were lovely. Shops and restaurants are within walking distance, and there's a pleasant route through Cahill Park. It was especially nice for an early morning walk. Thanks so much!

Friendly, helpful staff and very affordable accommodation. The room had a Smart TV, bar fridge, iron, hair dryer and extra pillows, and breakfast was included too. It's within walking distance of the international terminal, Wolli Creek station and a large Woolworths supermarket. Great value, highly recommended.

We came away very disappointed and wouldn't recommend staying here. On arrival, nobody explained much about the hotel or its services, including how breakfast worked, where it was or when it was available, even though it was included in our booking. Parking was limited, outdoors only and still charged extra. Our room and the rest of the hotel felt neglected and dirty, with stains on the couch and bath, torn carpet, and obvious dust on the power switches. At checkout, no one asked how our stay had been. In response to the reply below: our booking did say breakfast was included, but without any information about the location or hours, it was difficult to use. Parking costs were listed too, but not the limited spaces or the lack of undercover parking. Refurbishment may be planned for the future, but the hotel could still be kept clean and tidy now. There was dirt and dust buildup and staining in our room and around the hotel.

The staff were brilliant and quickly sorted out a problem with our booking. The location is also great, within walking distance of the international airport, with plenty of nearby places to eat. If you're travelling with kids, having a park a short walk away is a big help. The rooms were clean, though the building feels old, with dark, dated hallways and rooms. It's a weak four stars, earned only for the location and helpful staff. Don't count on a decent night's sleep: my mattress was worn out and I sank into it like marshmallow, leaving me in a terrible position, while the pillow was harder than a rock. I woke sore after sleeping badly. The free continental breakfast is a nice quick bite before an early flight.
