Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour

The breakfast buffet had plenty to choose from and stayed open past 9, unlike the small continental breakfasts I've had elsewhere. The staff were attentive, and the location in darling harbour made it easy to walk to ferries, shops, and restaurants in about 15-20 minutes. The Opera House is a longer walk, around 40 minutes, but doable. I used points through my credit card to book five nights, since I probably couldn't have afforded that stay otherwise, and it was definitely worth it. They upgraded me to a fancy corner room overlooking Darling Harbour. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was amazing, and everything was very clean. My only drawbacks were the lack of a microwave and the very limited fridge space. Construction right beside the hotel made the pool area a little less appealing, though that wasn't the hotel's fault. The pool was chilly, but refreshing on a hot day, and there was plenty of seating.

Stefan was ecstatic when he found the handwritten birthday card in our Suite, with his favourite Lightning Mcqueen car on it. It matched his cake perfectly. My wife Lora had called Lolita from the Reception team late the night before to mention Stefan's 4th birthday, so we were touched that the team arranged such a personal surprise for our young godson, who had flown all the way from Singapore for just one week with us in Sydney. We stayed in the luxurious Prestige Suite and loved its spaciousness and beautiful views. The welcome gifts were generous too: sparkling wine, a dessert platter, a kids' activities pack, and cute little kangaroo plush toys. The team also brought canapés and drinks to the Suite for the children. Those thoughtful touches made us feel like VIPs and left us with a lasting, positive impression of the personalized service. Phillip at Club Millesime was polite, kind, and friendly to Lora, and Phillip Tan at Concierge remembered us and helped with our luggage in a warm, helpful way. We felt recognized as Accor VIP Diamond Partners. The service we receive each time at Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour hotel is why it is our favourite, number one choice. We highly recommend it to close family and friends, and look forward to returning in the near future. Thank you for taking such good care of us and making this stay magnifique.

I came to Sydney for the Josh Groban concert at the ICC, which is right next door, and the hotel was also close to Darling Harbour/Quarter/Square, Chinatown, lots of places to eat, and the Light Rail station across the street. There were plenty of events over the weekend, including Mardi Gras, Lunar New Year, and the Greek Festival. The hotel muffled most of the noise while keeping everything nearby. A great little staycation. The Sofitel Spa was a peaceful oasis despite the construction view outside. The consultation was thoughtful and thorough. My allergies ruled out many products, including some from my room's amenities, but I appreciated being able to swab test and discuss options properly without the process feeling too clinical. The massage was deeply relaxing, if all too brief. From arrival to departure, staff were warm, attentive, and helpful. There were lots of elevators and they all ran smoothly. My room had enough space, with plenty of flat surfaces for unpacking and working, decent air conditioning, and very comfortable bedding. There wasn't a light switch by the door, but that wasn't a big deal. The closets had lights and fabric hangers, which I appreciated, and the bathroom was really nice. Breakfast offered solid choices. Nothing too exciting, but the classics were done deliciously well, and the Anti-Aging mixed juice was delightful.

We felt looked after throughout this amazing two-night stay for my Wife's birthday. The staff we dealt with were courteous, attentive, and friendly. There was a double charge on our account at checkout, but once we pointed it out, they promptly fixed it and apologized. We upgraded to a darling harbour view room with Millesime Club access, and we're so glad we did. Check-in on the dedicated 35th floor was a lovely start, and the views at breakfast, afternoon tea, and canapés were amazing. The sleep touches were thoughtful too, with slippers set beside the bed, lavender pillow spray, and chamomile tea. My wife also enjoyed a complimentary mini birthday cake. We'll make this a go-to hotel for Sydney stays.
