St Marks Randwick

The room was more basic than I expected for the price, though the beds were comfy. There was no wardrobe or drawers, just an open shelving unit with 5 hangers for two people, and the toiletries were very limited. The kitchenette had a coffee machine, toaster and dishwasher, but the cupboard with clean crockery was locked more often than not. That meant we couldn't get clean cups after putting ours in the dishwasher. The kitchen tea towel wasn't changed during our 8 nights, and there's no lift. The building itself is lovely, clean and calm, with a nice courtyard. It's well located for local buses and within walking distance of the beach, shops and cafes. There's onsite laundry, but no information about the cost of the coin operated machines. Overall, I was a bit disappointed.

We only booked one night, which we regretted. It would have been a thousand times better to stay at this hotel for the whole trip. The team at St Marks Randwick were friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. They stored our luggage before check-in while we explored the neighborhood, then did the same after check-out so we could enjoy more time before heading to our next destination. The room was spacious and super comfortable, and the huge bathroom made the stay even better. Our experience was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend!

The room was fine, very clean and comfortable, and the location and value were great. There was an odd smell, maybe from steam cleaning or deodorant. I was a bit disappointed to be in an obvious modern addition; I imagine most other rooms have more character and high ceilings. Leaving early meant I couldn't use the coffee pod machine in the shared kitchenette, which only opened at 8am. Check-in and check-out were easy, though, and I'd still book again because I get the feeling the other rooms are better.

The staff and the hotel’s courtyards and shared spaces were excellent, but room 305 was a letdown. It was tiny and very dark, with awful lighting, a small window, a toilet smell, and a bathroom that felt cramped. The room also looked tired and badly in need of a makeover. We’d stayed two years ago and had a fabulous room, which is why we booked again, but this stay didn’t come close. Since we were only there for two nights, we didn’t bother asking to move. The room was expensive for what we got.
