Strathfield Executive Accommodation

The location was handy, close to the station and across from Albert Rd, where there's a Little Korea area with Coles, shops, Chemist Warehouse and more. The apartment itself is on the quieter side. We had a room facing the trains, but it was fine at night with the doors shut. Grace was delightful and did her best to help. She is elderly and very enthusiastic, and it seemed like a demanding job keeping the place tidy. Our room and bathroom were clean enough, the kitchenette was replenished, the air conditioning worked well, and both my wife and I had no trouble getting hot showers. It was nice to have breakfast outside on the balcony. The in-room kitchenette has no stovetop, but the toaster, mini fridge and microwave were enough for us. I can see why some reviews were negative, but we had no bad experiences.

The body wash and shampoo in the bathroom dispensers had a musty smell we didn't like, and the spare blanket in the cupboard had a few hairs. Still, the room was simple, clean and had what we needed for an easy meal, including a microwave, plate and utensils. After a severe storm cut power to our home in Western Sydney, we found this place at the last minute and checked in after 8pm. Grace, the cheerful 81-year-old receptionist, welcomed us and was amazing. This place is a gem in Strathfield, a short walk from the station and restaurants. It worked perfectly for our needs, and could suit short or longer stays depending on what you need.

Even with weekday rush-hour traffic outside, our room was impressively soundproof. It was super clean, the bed was comfortable, and the blackout blind kept the room dark after sunrise. We booked at the last minute for a concert and arrived about five minutes late for check-in. Two very welcoming, enthusiastic women at reception greeted us and gave us helpful information. They went above and beyond to sort out our transport to the concert. There's no parking unless you book well ahead, though we got a street spot right outside. Highly recommend this place.

Be very careful booking here. We stayed just one night, arriving at 8pm and leaving at 3am to continue our road trip. The room was filthy when we got there, but we left it immaculate. Even so, the hotel claimed damages through the booking site and charged us $240 for no reason. The woman we reached by phone told us to contact the booking website. We did, but then she disputed it! With charges like this, you might as well spend $500 or more on somewhere nicer.
