Sutherland Motel

We were in room no. 1 for three nights, and the state of the place was appalling. The floors were gritty, the bathroom was dated and dirty, the room smelled stale, and there were cobwebs. The pillows were filthy, the fridge rusty, and there was mould in the shower. The grounds were overgrown, with chipped paintwork and furnishings too. We feel insulted and should be refunded. Having paid in full and being too late to cancel, we had to stay, and it ruined our holiday.

We were travelling in a motorhome with a dog, and this pet-friendly place was easy to access right on princes highway. The manager was lovely and very helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Highly recommend.

Over the last five years I’ve stayed here plenty of times and have brought my family as well. The host has always been lovely and accommodating, and we’ve found the rooms clean and tidy. I’ll keep staying here whenever I’m in Sydney.

When I complained, I was only given an apology and told nothing could be done to help. The motel has since called me, apologized, and fully refunded my night’s accommodation. We arrived at 6pm and had no hot water at all. Apparently the other three rooms attached to ours had used it up before we got there, so there wouldn’t be any until morning. That was the most disappointing part. Motels and hotels should have unlimited hot water.
