The staff were so friendly and helpful, especially when we were exhausted and a bit muddled while figuring out how to get to the hotel. They made it easy to find our pickup point for the airport ride the next morning. Just be aware the road outside is very busy and apparently doesn’t allow stops, so you’ll need to walk about half a block with your luggage. For a fairly affordable place, it was a great deal with comfortable basics. The shower was roomy and had great pressure, and the firm beds were comfortable. More power outlets would help, since the ones there were few and in odd places. You might want to ask for extra towels, though we didn’t, so I can’t comment on that. Well worth staying.

I left without staying a single night. The room felt uninhabitable, and when I checked out at 11 p.m. on my first night, I had to book another nearby hotel at my own expense. The hotel and the booking platform have both declined to refund the service I didn’t receive. The online photos looked bright, but the corridors and public areas were extremely dark and poorly lit, which made the place feel unsettling and unsafe. In my room, the TV was stuck on, so I couldn’t sleep, and disturbing noises kept echoing through the building. I went straight to the front desk to ask for another room. Staff said they were fully booked and offered no alternative or help. My safety concerns were ignored. I strongly advise future guests to think carefully before booking.

The staff were welcoming and accommodating, and the location is right in the heart of Sydney. It was a shame that our windows looked onto an alley wall with no natural light. There were no bathroom shelves for toiletries either.

I arrived before the usual check-in time, and the team kindly arranged an early check-in. It made a huge difference after my journey. Dockia and Percy at reception were especially welcoming, professional and efficient. They handled everything smoothly and made me feel valued as soon as I arrived at YEHS Sydney QVB.
