The Downing Hostel

Illen really made my stay at Downing Hostel. She was so friendly and professional, and was always there to help with a smile. Her warm attitude made me feel comfortable from the minute I arrived. The hostel itself is clean, social, and well run, but her hospitality stood out most. I'd happily recommend staying here.

Getting into the city was easy from this hostel, with the airport train only about a 20-minute ride away. The central location is one of its best features. The crew were all really nice, especially Bethany, who was very helpful. Rooms were comfortable, there were plenty of showers and bathrooms, and the rooftop and bar were good and affordable. I had an amazing stay.

We spent two months here as a couple and felt welcome from the start, thanks to Paul and Holly. They're kind, extraordinary people who are always willing to help. The hostel may have only a few rooms, but its big terrace and friendly atmosphere make it feel like little families form here. Beth was wonderful to us as well, always treating us with love. Thanks again to Paul and Holly, and goodbye to Beth.

It's a good location, and the staff were nice. It was one of the cheaper choices, so I got what I paid for. The rooms were cramped and small, and the showers, toilets, and hallways all felt grimy and dirty. If all you need is a roof and a bed, it does the job. If you want space, cleanliness, and attention to detail, this place may not suit you.
