The central location was great, and the room was really nice. Staff were helpful too. The doors were the main problem: they slammed shut loudly, and people going to the toilet in the early hours seemed to wake most of the floor. Otherwise, a decent hotel.

I was in Sydney for the Marathon and really enjoyed staying here. It's an easy walk to beautiful Elizabeth Bay, and King’s Cross train station is close by. The place feels modern and stylish, and it was clean. I was a little unsure about the shared bathrooms, but they were consistently clean and looked after, so it wasn't an issue. A comfortable, well-located spot that I'd recommend.

For the same money, you can find better places around here or in darlinghurst. This is a basic hotel dressed up as an affordable design hotel. The beds are extremely uncomfortable, aren't secured, and slide around the floor. Staff weren't much help either. Bags were left unattended when the front desk was empty for long stretches, even though keeping the luggage safe would have taken very little effort.

We checked into a room with no towels and had to find some ourselves because there wasn't any staff around. The air conditioner rattled so loudly while running that we couldn't sleep. When we checked out, my partner and I were carrying all our luggage down the stairs. The housekeeper saw us on the narrow stairwell but pushed past without acknowledging us or waiting for us to get down the last three steps. The shared bathroom was also really unpleasant. Other guests left underwear, bloody snot (see photo), and rubbish in the shower. When I told guest services about the bloody snot, he said, “just use the other bathrooms”. I asked him to clean it, and he said, “house keeping will be here in a couple hours”. Later that day, after the rooms had been cleaned, there was no toilet paper in the bathroom and the shower had run out of soap. It made me think the bathrooms weren't being fully cleaned very often. We had to add another night in Sydney, but there was no way we were spending it at Jensen. We booked Bayswater Boutique in the same area in Potts Point for less. It had working AC, an easy check-in, a clean bathroom, several towels in the room, a small kitchenette, snacks and drinks for purchase, and extra blankets if needed.
