The Pacific House Hostel

The dorm was spacious, the beds were really comfortable, and the view from my room was incredible. The hostel was clean and well maintained, and the kitchen team did a great job keeping that area tidy. Breakfast was simple, but I appreciated it. The location was ideal, within walking distance of major sights and public transport. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcome. The hostel is beautiful and a good fit for solo travellers or anyone hoping to meet other travellers. The staff were so hospitable. The young woman who helped me had only started two weeks earlier, but she gave excellent, professional service and knew her stuff. Thanks again for the room. Cedric, your warm smile, pleasant attitude and chats made my stay more memorable. All the best, and don't forget to be fashion. I've already recommended Pacific Hostel to other travellers.

I found the hostel very quiet and felt safe there. They have excellent emergency preparedness procedures. The staff are always smiling, friendly and helpful, and there's a strong community feel. Free daily activities like running club, movie night, wine and cheese, and picnic day make it easy to meet people. I was often excited to get back early for them, and did I mention they're free? It's a very good hostel and I got a great price. The rooms are clean, and the shared kitchen and other areas are well maintained. I'd suggest cleaning the shower area more often, though it was still acceptable. There's laundry, and the clothing iron is easy to access. It's close to Hyde Park and St. Mary’s Cathedral. Woolworths, cafes and bakeries are nearby. I don't mind walking, so the 30-minute walk to Circular Quay and the Opera House worked for me.

The reception staff were very nice, and I had a comfortable stay. Breakfast was free, basic but enough, and helped me save time in the morning. The hostel cafe served good food, and I never had to wait for the showers or toilets. The shared toilets weren't very clean, especially on the 2nd floor. My room also had an unpleasant damp, musty smell. The single pillow was flat and gave no support, and a chair in the room would have been useful. I'd stay again for a night or two.

A sociable hostel with lots of events, and the free breakfast was nice. It's in a really good location and easy to get around from. The lockers in the rooms were so useful, a handy feature you don't see in many hostels. Had a great time!
