The location made getting around easy, with the train station for the airport, ferries and light rail nearby, and the Opera house and Harbour bridge within walking distance. The staff were lovely, professional and kind, and helped with everything. Breakfast was tasty with several choices. The hotel itself is a charming boutique place that blends history with modern comforts. I loved the design and historic rooms, and had modern lighting and air conditioning, plus thoughtful touches like a bathrobe and slippers. The shared bathrooms and toilets were so clean and tidy that I sometimes felt I was the only one using them. If noise bothers you, avoid room 3 because of the bins being emptied. Otherwise, everything was excellent. The pub downstairs has live music, which adds to the character. Recommended.

Fortune of War Pub is attached, and has great food and drinks dating back to circa 1828 in Sydney's best neighborhood. This is a fantastic historic hotel, full of charm, with amazing, helpful staff and a perfect location. It was a comfortable place to rest at night. My only reservation is for anyone with mobility issues, as there are stairs to manage despite the limited lifts.

It's easy to get here from the airport: take the train straight to circular quay, then walk less than five minutes. The hotel is in an excellent spot, close to ferries and boat trips, with the light rail easy to reach too. Our charming room matched its description, breakfast was really good, and all the as train were lovely and helpful. We also ate at the pub several times. We'll definitely be back. Thank you for a great stay.

We had a wonderful two-night stay at The Russell Boutique Hotel before our cruise. Everything was spot on, from the service and food to the location, within walking distance of the cruise terminal and plenty more. They even arranged a delicious breakfast to go for our early excursion, since we had to leave before restaurant breakfast was served. The next day's restaurant breakfast exceeded expectations. The price is very reasonable, and we can't recommend it enough. We'll stay again on our next visit to Sydney.

The staff were all happy to help, and breakfast was excellent for getting the day started. Our double room facing the main street was a good size; the bathroom was small but perfectly adequate. There was music outside until 11pm, though it didn't really bother us. The location is super, within easy walking distance of the main sights and downtown, with lots of restaurants close by. Main stations are nearby too, handy for getting around and taking excursions. The ghost stories are hearsay, so don't mind them.
