The Savoy Double Bay Hotel

We've stayed at the Savoy several times over the years and liked the location, but this time we came away with bed bug bites. They appeared as sores about 24 hrs after we left. I called The Savoy reception to alert them so other guests might avoid the same thing, and later sent the hotel photos showing many of the sores. So far, there seems to be a worrying amount of denial. The place needs proper cleaning and treatment to get rid of bedbugs. If nobody acknowledges a problem, management won't look for a fix, and I'd be disappointed if nothing is done and the issue carries on. The convenience isn't worth getting sores through no fault of your own.

We stopped by to see a friend who was staying at the Savoy in Double Bay and really liked the street facing balcony. The location is hard to beat, and it seems like a good budget-friendly option, with a laid-back feel and staff who are genuinely attentive. It has what you need for a comfortable visit. Highly recommended.

It's so noisy here, with stomping overhead, especially when families with kids are staying, doors banging and TVs blaring. Terrible!! There was a cockroach in the room overnight. Housekeeping left it on the floor the next day. The place needs a revamp. Avoid it.

The location is fantastic, but the rooms badly need some care. The floors were stained and dirty, bugs were flying around in the shower, and the sofa was broken, so we couldn't sit on it. There was water in the fridge that was off, the milk wasn't replenished, and everything was extremely dusty. No spare blankets either, and the room above us was very loud. Sadly, I wouldn't recommend it.
