The Social Hotel

The staff were extremely accommodating and genuinely wanted guests to have a good experience, and the location is great. But most people staying here seemed to be there long-term and treated the place like their own, leaving the rooms and washrooms messy. My husband’s room was really dirty and messy, with his roommate taking up a lot of space with their uber bags. Because of the long-term guests and the state of the shared spaces, I wouldn’t recommend this place or stay here again.

Phoebe and Antoine deserve a special mention for their kindness and great energy. The welcome was amazing, and the whole team was so friendly that we felt comfortable right away. Management and staff do a fantastic job making the place feel warm and welcoming. A big thank you for a wonderful stay. I highly recommend this hotel if you’re after friendliness, good vibes and genuine hospitality!

The location makes it easy to explore the city, and it’s a good option for backpackers or solo travelers. The rooms are basic but clean, and the common areas are a nice place to meet other travelers. Staff were helpful and friendly. We had a fun, affordable stay with a lively, social atmosphere.

The first impression at reception was the complete opposite of welcoming. Phoebe didn’t even say hello when I arrived. She was so unfriendly that I felt like I was bothering her just by checking in, and the interaction was uncomfortable and unprofessional from the start. At a hostel, basic politeness and kindness should be the minimum. I travel often and stay in hostels in many countries, so this attitude was especially surprising. One of the worst receptions I’ve experienced at a hostel.
