The Urban Newtown

The hotel’s decor is amazing, and the rooms are very comfortable, with toiletries, a mini kitchen, hair dryer, and ironing board. They also suggest nearby places to eat where guests can get a discount. It’s perfectly placed for a visit to the Enmore Theatre and a wander through Newtown. Loved it.

I felt safe throughout my solo stay, and the room was peaceful and very clean. The kitchenette and snack bar were especially handy, and I could work remotely in different spots around the hotel, including the lobby. Check-in at 11:30am was much appreciated after my long flight from the UK. And there’s a HOTEL DOG!!!!! 🥺🐕 I’d stay again. I’d read reviews mentioning a musty smell, but didn’t notice one at all. I’d stayed at Sydney Park Hotel in 2023, but when I found there were no rooms available there this time, I booked The Urban Newtown. It was just as good, if not better.

The family room worked fine for an overnight visit, since we were there to sleep rather than hang around in the room. The main bedroom had everything I needed, and the staff were quick to respond to my emails before we arrived. The second bedroom was very tiny, though, with barely room to get past the bunk bed and no PowerPoints. There was so much to like: early check-in, late checkout, wonderful service, and spotless rooms. It’s beautifully decorated, and I wish I’d taken photos of the wall art. Tea and coffee, a microwave, and a mini fridge were available, and free cancellation was offered up to two days before. The location is perfect for the theatre, and the welcome email had loads of information about local restaurants and Cafes, including one with a guest discount. Just the best place to stay in Enmore!

The location is great and the rooms are very well equipped. Everything else was terrific, but the TV WiFi kept dropping out and was dreadful. That connection was the only reason I gave it three stars. If that doesn’t matter to you, stay here.
