UKO Stanmore

UKO Stanmore has been perfect for me. The room is spacious enough to stretch out or work out, and all the natural light means I don’t need a lamp until late afternoon. It’s on a really quiet street, so it feels peaceful all the time. There’s a bus stop right across the road, with frequent buses into the city. The fridge is small and there’s no AC, but those are minor complaints for me.

The Community Management team are the standout for me. They’re friendly, responsive and helped me secure an apartment quickly when I needed somewhere at short notice. Maintenance requests have also been dealt with pretty quickly. I’ve rented places where landlords tried to dodge repairs, so it’s a relief to know UKO will work on getting things sorted. I’ve been at UKO Stanmore for three months, just extended, and plan to stay long term. My studio is quiet, faces the courtyard and has a small furnished balcony. The apartments are cosy, convenient and thoughtfully designed, with a modern look that I like. Drawers are built into the little staircase to the bed, and there are pull-out shelves, a pull-out wardrobe and plenty of storage under the bed. It’s fully furnished, with the crockery and appliances you need and a flat-screen TV, so there’s no need to buy or move furniture. I’ve definitely used it for Netflix nights. The communal kitchen and lounge feel like a home, with a nice community atmosphere, drinks and lots of board games. There’s even a working Polaroid camera. You can borrow one of the free bikes to ride into the city too. Big thanks to the UKO team, this place rocks! ❤️

Finding accommodation is one of the hardest parts of visiting Australia for the first time as an international student. UKO made it much easier, and the lease terms are flexible.

Living at UKO Stanmore for eight months meant I didn’t have to worry about furniture, linen, bills, paperwork or landlords. The studios are well designed and functional, and the whole coliving setup makes daily life easier. For the quality, location and fair price, it’s hard to find a studio rental like this in Sydney. Being far from home and my country during COVID wasn’t easy. The UKO team supported us through an uncertain time, and I’m grateful. You feel valued, and the friendly community is a good way to meet people. If you’ve just arrived in Sydney and aren’t sure where to start, I’d go straight to UKO.
