Vibe Hotel North Sydney

The worst part of our anniversary day stay was what happened after lunch: a stranger entered our room with a working keycard. The front desk had assigned our room to another guest by mistake, and the interruption left us feeling unsafe and on edge for the rest of the day. We had booked The Vibe North Sydney for a rare, relaxing day together this past Sunday, March 1st. At checkout, we were told it was a “system glitch,” but that doesn’t undo the privacy breach. We’re very disappointed and want a refund. We emailed the hotel that night and are still waiting to hear how they’ll prevent this from happening to anyone else.

The staff were attentive and friendly, and the pool was a treat. I also loved the Sydney-inspired décor and our roomy, comfortable room with its lovely view. The location and atmosphere were great, with the Opera House about a 30-minute walk away. I’d happily stay again.

Woolworths is right next door, and there are lots of lunch options downstairs, though most close by dinner. The Metro station is only minutes away, so getting into the city centre by train is easy, even though the hotel is a bit out of the way. We stayed in a disabled-friendly room, which had a very spacious bedroom and bathroom. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and it was a nice stay.

We live in Sydney and booked this specifically for a relaxing pool day during the heatwave. There were no umbrellas when we arrived. Reception said the hotel doesn’t have any, even though the website and Booking.com prominently show several large ones around the pool. No alternative was offered. When we raised the sun exposure and explained that the advertised facilities had influenced our booking, the manager was dismissive, rude, and unhelpful. We were shocked by the lack of professionalism and customer service. Guests should be able to rely on amenities shown in the hotel’s advertising. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, and won’t be back.
