Wake Up! Sydney - Hostel

Zoe and Ari were especially lovely, and the friendly staff made my stay so much better. It’s a very social hostel, with good rooms and really easy access to public transport. I loved staying here.

Ariel was especially kind and helpful, always smiling, and the reps really made the stay special. I got a warm welcome at Wake Up and a clear rundown of where things were and how everything worked. Had a great time, and I’d stay again.

I’ve had a great experience overall: met some awesome people and thought highly of the staff. But the night staff gentleman, the bald guy, was unbelievably rude when our flight plans changed. We were meant to fly at 10pm, but had to switch to a 5am flight and leave around 2 or 3am. There was no reason for another room, and they didn’t have one available anyway. He was no help, told us to get lost and leave straight away, and said he didn’t care. After such a good stay, that was the last thing I expected. I come to Syd often and will be back, but something needs to be done. I can’t imagine this was the first time he’d acted like that.

You can’t get comfortable enough to sleep here. There are free earplugs, but the noise goes on all night and into the early morning, coming from all over, and even the doors are extremely loud. I don’t recommend this hostal if you want to rest at night. It’s very disrespectful to guests trying to sleep.
