Great apartments with nice facilities, including a gym, BBQ, pool, hot jacuzzi and well-kept gardens. It’s pet-friendly too. Macquarie Centre is right next door, and the Metro to barrangaro is a short walk away, with a trip taking under 20 minutes.
UPDATE: A new building manager has been appointed, but they’re still rude, aggressive and power hungry. Arturo is as bad as Christy was. It seems like being mean and threatening is a requirement for a BM here. It’s decent enough while we’re renting, but I wouldn’t buy here. Read the poor reviews and believe them. The building managers are rude and incapable, and it’s surprising how much attitude they have when they seem to spend their days doing nothing. Fire alarms go off often for no reason. When anyone breaches a building rule, the managers find the rudest way to tell them and threaten to cut off access to the lifts and amenities. They’re doing a security audit and require us to fill in a form with updated contact details. It also threatens loss of access if we don’t comply. A home should feel warm and welcoming, but the managers keep finding ways to make living here unbearable and ruin the day. The huge spider webs in the car parks and random screws and nails sticking out of concrete walls could be safety hazards, but management never seems concerned. They’re absolutely useless. The building itself is poorly designed too. The kitchens are tiny and there’s practically no storage. It works for us only because we’re a young couple with few belongings, but it would be too small for a family of three. Mail doesn’t make it to the mail room because of its awful, inconvenient location, and management won’t put up signs to help residents. You can’t move in on a weekend unless you’re willing to pay an extra 200 bucks, so you’ll have to take a day off. Moves need to be planned ages ahead because there are only two lifts and a couple of loading bays. Visitor parking is a joke, with apparently fewer than 100 spaces for a building of over 600 units. Forget having friends drive over. You might think you could use the max centre car park, but the gate from the building to the mall shuts at 10pm, so you couldn’t get back to your car after that. This isn’t worth your money whether renting or buying. Spend it on a place that will serve and respect you, and that’s worth your while as a renter. If you’re buying, steer clear of this massive disappointment. You’ll regret it. There always seem to be umpteen vacant units ready to lease, and I’d bet the intolerable management and strata are scaring both tenants and buyers off.
Benjamin Cheong is the worst property manager and person I’ve ever dealt with in Australia. It’s strange that he has a small place within the property but doesn’t seem to feel any responsibility for residents, which clearly isn’t right. He must think he’s the Kim Jong-un of this property. Be careful what you do on the property, because he seems to watch everything. Yet none of my requests have ever been handled properly or politely. He’s always aggressive toward residents, and I don’t understand why he keeps working if he hates it so much. If he isn’t happy doing the job, maybe it’s time to quit.
It looks good, but it’s not the best place to live. I was there for nine months and had a lot of bad experiences. Management is poor and there are lots of unnecessary rules. They charge 200$ if you move in or out on a weekend, and false fire alarms go off every month and disrupt your life. The units are badly designed, with tiny kitchens and very little storage. The paint is some of the worst, you can mark it just by brushing the walls with your jacket. If you rent a unit in a brand new apartment here, you need to pay a 300$ development fee to set up internet, on top of everything else. The landlord didn’t pay it, and there’s no law requiring the owner to cover it. So make an agreement with the owner before paying.
Amended review: after living here for nearly a year, the pool and gym have been closed since March 2020. Building management is awful, and the facilities would be great if residents could use them. Alarms go off a few times a month, and getting in and out of the buildings makes deliveries and other things impossible. If you’re thinking of moving here, look for a building managed by a company willing to make a COVID-safe plan so residents can use what they pay for. This property could be amazing with a more professional management company that wasn’t occupied with smoke breaks and watching CCTV all day. The apartment itself is beautiful, with an amazing view and plenty of space and storage. It’s perfect for our little family. I think the other poor reviews are from the letting and selling agents across the road at number 80, where there’s no pool and the apartments are tiny, the ones we viewed first. The pool here is great and the gym is awesome. It’s completely silent, though in block C an owner has left their lights on so they shine all night. The landscaping is brilliant, and everyone is super polite and friendly. The storage cage and car space are so handy. Sure, the kitchen is small, but it’s really functional. We just put the microwave on the huge bench, which wasn’t hard. The internet through LBNco is super fast, and we’re just waiting on foxtel. I’m not sure how you can leave a bad review if you didn’t even move in or can comment on noise.
