Our group of six came from WA for the Tamworth Country music festival and ended up calling this place “Cockroach Inn.” The location is the only thing it has going for it. Cockroaches were crawling around the room, up the walls, and in the bathroom and kitchenette, and some jumped onto us at night. We bought our own blankets, pillows, and towels when we arrived. After we asked for cockroach bait, we were given two baits and a can of fly spray. The next day, we went to hospital to have our bed bug bites medically assessed. The property has a serious cockroach and bed bug infestation, and we don’t think it’s fit for people to stay in. The owner was rude and dismissive and showed no concern for our health or the motel’s conditions. She said we could leave if we wanted, but there’d be no refund. We’d paid for 10 days. This place should be urgently inspected by the health department and kept out of the hospitality industry until it meets basic hygiene and safety standards. Don’t stay here under any circumstances.

We came on a friend’s recommendation, but we won’t be staying here again. The carpets were stained, the bed and pillows were very hard, and the place is old and needs renovating. The shower had someone’s hair dye splattered around and packaging left in it, so it clearly hadn’t been cleaned. I told the manager/owner, who apologised and offered us another room, but we decided to cut our losses and camp instead. We didn’t feel safe. When we came back in the morning to shower and use the toilet before returning the keys, police had parked us in while looking for someone.

It’s quite run down and unfortunately not up to standard, though the people are lovely. We’d hoped for better, and it seems they’re working hard to improve the place.

There was no hot water, utensils, plates, or soap, and nothing explaining how to connect to the internet. We also got no information about entertainment or takeaway. Absolutely disappointing. I’ll never recommend this place or come back.

I visited my partner and her three children in room 21. We felt safe there, and the kids, aged 2, 4, 6, and 8, could run around while we had a BBQ. The room and bathroom were clean, and we had no problems with anything. Emma at reception is really friendly and hospitable. We think it’s a decent place to stay.
