The grounds and lawns were lovely for a morning coffee walk, and the pool was heaven on a 38 degree day. There were no kids around, which I think may be because all the rooms have queen beds. The Orchard room was pretty and well kept, and I especially liked the bathroom, with its double shower heads and the unique faucet on the spa bath. My only real issue was the separate bedroom had a heater but no air con. The air con in the living area didn’t quite cool it, so it got a bit hot. Given it was an almost 40 degree day, it wasn’t that bad, and should be fine below 30 degrees. We booked through their Barossa short stays website two months ahead. When they didn’t charge my account at first, I worried there might be an issue, but everything was fine and they took the room cost a few days before our stay. The property is as beautiful and expansive as the pictures. I would most certainly recommend it for a Barossa stay. We might have used the bbq, but the flies were a little excessive, probably less of an issue when it’s cooler.

The outdoor pool was a welcome escape in the roughly 40c heat, and I enjoyed chatting with the other guests there. We spent one night in the top-of-the-range "Orchard" accommodation, a very large lounge with a bedroom featuring a 4 poster bed and ensuite bathroom. It’s a good place for visiting the many vintages in the area. We only met one staff member, the gardener, who was very supportive, and I’d like to thank him again for his help. Access is through a metal gate, and a "welcome sign" seemed to be missing. There was a complimentary bottle of wine in the room, which was pleasant, though it was the smallest bottle I’ve ever seen, a strange detail when vineyards surround the place.

The grounds are beautiful, with four separate cottages, fountains, a swimming pool, barbeques, and fire pits. Our quiet, spacious cottage had a king size bed, tea and coffee facilities, and a bathroom with a large shower and sunken spa. A beautiful retreat, well worth the stay.

My girlfriend and I had a brilliant two-night stay at the retreat, even though it was 40 degrees all weekend. It’s a quiet, peaceful area, and we could wander around whenever we liked. Jerry was really nice when we arrived. Worth every cent, and we’ll definitely be back.

The Fuschia suite had everything we needed, including a lively spa bath. We came for our first wedding anniversary and were delighted by the welcome surprise of local goodies after I asked for a few extras. It’s a cute, quiet place tucked away from things, just what we wanted and then some. We highly recommend it and hope to return.
