Kiewa Country Cottages

The view is gorgeous: grassy, tree-covered slopes in front, a creek in the middle, and snow-capped mountains in the distance. The cottages are near Mt Beauty, and the accommodation was very nice and clean. A few things took away from what could easily have been a five-star stay. There are lots of messages warning about using too much hot water or toilet paper, washing dishes, and taking rubbish out. The place has a combustion heater but no wood, which I think should be supplied, though you can buy some. There’s a BBQ, but nothing to light it with. I eventually got a lighter after sorting out the communication issues. The owner/Manager is a lovely older Chinese gentleman who doesn’t speak English, so communication has to happen by phone through his interpretation app.

Jenny and Andy were wonderful hosts, so accommodating and helpful, and the grounds are beautiful and well maintained. I also appreciated that it’s a guest-only property, which made for a quiet, peaceful getaway. The cottage felt cosy thanks to its thoughtful design and decoration and comfortable furniture. There were homemade cookies waiting when we arrived, and the Kiewa Cottage Easter bunny left treats for us on Easter Sunday. So many thoughtful little touches. We’ll definitely come back.

Jenny was the best, super friendly, helpful, and attentive to all the details. We’ll definitely return. The cottage sits in beautiful, relaxing surroundings, and I loved the green scenery and nature visible from the apartment balcony, as well as being able to walk around outside.

We had a lovely family stay and would definitely book again. Shops, the Kiewa River, and other picturesque spots are within walking distance. The owners know the area well and shared recommendations and maps in our accommodation. There were some lovely touches for the kids, including pool toys, a swing, and a seating area by the creek. We appreciated the homemade touches too.
