The view was decent and made for some great pictures, but that was the bright spot. The front door had several cracks, like someone had tried to force their way in. Inside, there was a strange smell like vape, even though the room was supposed to be “vape-free.” Most of the TVs didn’t work, and the ones that did were ancient and only showed very old podcasts. The hygiene was poor too. There were several hairs on the bed and bathroom floor, stuck there as if they’d been there a long time. Don’t visit.

The self check-in was straightforward, with clear instructions that were easy to follow. The apartment was clean and comfortable, and staff had made sure it was stocked with towels and essentials. They also had the sofa bed ready when we arrived, as requested. The location was excellent, close to the boardwalk and handy for restaurants and cafes. We had a very pleasant stay, and it was great value for the location. I’d happily stay again at Nesuto The Entrance Apartments.

Our room was 609. The staff were nice at check-in, including the girl and the guy. We were pleased to get an upgrade to a waterfront memorial Park view. The dining table was big, but the lift is very small, and after hours you need to tap to get into the property. Channel 9 kept cutting out. The bed was comfortable, and the blankets and pillows were nice. There were problems too. The dryer came off its hook when my mother tried to close it, so we put it in the sink and called reception. The hotel phone wasn’t working, and no one was at reception when we went down. We called the number and were thanked for reporting it, so we didn’t have to pay $300. My 86-year-old mum fell on the step as we entered the room and fractured something. They put a cast on her at the hospital, and we were told to wait until we got to Sydney. We also found a dirty sock on the floor. Around 10pm, some Lebanese kids were running and shouting in the hallway while their mother yelled at them. The rules say no running in the hallways, and guests should be mindful of others. They were loud.

Free undercover parking was a plus, and the room was a good size with a full-size fridge, stovetop, and a bathroom washing machine and dryer that came in handy. But there wasn’t much crockery, and the furniture was dated. The balcony itself was roomy, though the furniture looked like it had been picked up from the street: two tiny, cheap plastic chairs without armrests and a small, wobbly table too little to eat at. My room was really noisy, with cars, buses and trucks all audible. I doubt the windows were double glazed. I also couldn’t connect to any streaming channels, despite them appearing on the TV remote.

The car park was flooded and so slippery that my wife and both kids fell while walking from the car. We had booked for two small children, but the second bed wasn’t made up. We were told there might be linen in the cupboard we could use. There was no hot water for our whole stay. When we raised it with management at checkout, they said there had been a problem and they’d called an emergency plumber at considerable cost, but they didn’t seem to care about the guests and residents affected. When we tried to run a bath for the kids, the water was murky and brown, as in the attached photo. It felt like indoor camping, with about the same amenities. Honestly, book at the Oaks or somewhere else.
