We stayed in a one-bedroom cabin for a restful week, and the gardens had plenty of lovely spots to sit and unwind. Check-in was quick, the room was clean, and the bed and bedding were really comfortable. It wasn't completely soundproof, though. The staff were friendly, including the cleaners, and little Billie the dog was a sweet touch. There wasn't an oven or stovetop in our cabin, but the motel supplied electric frying pans and the BBQs had oil, utensils and paper towels. Shops like the IGA, bakery, butcher and newsagent are about a five-minute walk away. Barnacles is roughly 20 minutes on foot, and feeding the dolphins there is a must do. Groovy Goat is right next door, with fantastic, good-value food and bottles of wine for $22-$25. Thirsty Camel is next door too.

The room was spotless and comfortable, and honestly better than most places I've stayed. From the moment I arrived, the team were so friendly and ready to help with anything. You can tell they really care about their guests. I had an amazing stay, I'll definitely come back, and I can't recommend it enough.

The cabins were clean, and staff were quick to bring extra toilet paper, coffee or milk when we needed it. It was a peaceful place to spend time with family, with beautifully kept gardens and a friendly, attentive feel. Dolphin feeding is close by, and having a pub next door made dinner easy. The food was great, especially the delicious pizzas. Even while the pub was being renovated, we could still have a drink and a meal there.

We needed somewhere for the same day that cost less than Rainbow Beach, and came across this cozy motel. The receptionist made us feel very welcome, and our room was tidy, neat and really comfortable. We'd definitely stay again.

I don't understand how this motel has a 9.0 score on booking.com. There was mold all over the lampshades, and the cot we paid extra for had been altered with a "comfy" mattress. It left HUGE gaps between the mattress and cot sides, which is a suffocation hazard. My 9month old could have rolled into the side during the night and died. We stayed five nights with two young children. After three nights, we asked housekeeping to vacuum the floors, change the sheets and provide fresh towels. They said no, they only do that every five days, but left new towels at our front door. The following day I made the same request to reception and was rudely asked by the man I assume was the owner, "well how many nights have you been here". I said, '4, but we have a baby who is crawling and we've spent every day at the beach, so there's sand everywhere'. He replied, "we will service the room but not the beds". It felt like saving money mattered more than guests' comfort and safety. There were two hazards, the mold and the cot, and we were constantly uncomfortable in a bed with tiny bits of sand. The service was shocking. We might as well have thrown $800 into the ocean and slept on the beach. I have photos of everything.
