Great Ocean Road Resort

The extra care in keeping us updated during the fires around the Carlisle River was much appreciated. We were in room 25 beside the staff closet, but it didn’t bother us. The staff were busy and did a great job cleaning the rooms. It was a peaceful, relaxed stay, with a good vibe among guests and staff. Anglesea’s shops and other spots were a short walk away. The locally sourced breakfast was very good, and there’s a cool little restaurant on site. The resort also has a good gym, tennis court and pool.

Anglesea is such a laid-back place, with a gorgeous beach, gentle surfable waves, a few really good restaurants and cafes, and enough else to do without feeling pressured. Great Ocean Road Resort is a lovely base for enjoying it. The rooms are stylish and comfortable, set among a lush tropical garden, and there’s an excellent spa and nice restaurant, plus plenty of other amenities. The friendly team made me feel at home straight away. My favourite place to stay on my happy stretch of the Great Ocean Road. Thanks, I miss you already! 😍

The kids especially loved the pool, including its nice little toddler area. The room was spacious and spotless, the beds were really comfortable, and it was quiet at night. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. We loved our stay and will definitely come back!

Each room has its own little deck, nice for sitting outside in the evening. There’s also a restaurant on site and a free heated pool. Shops are a short walk away, and the beach is less than five minutes away, with lots of nice walks nearby if you feel like stretching your legs. The rooms are set up as separate little units, so you get your own space and don’t feel crowded by the neighbours. They have a clean beach look, super-comfy beds and a rain shower with good pressure. A great spot to rest and relax.
